Nana Appiah-Korang
INana is an experienced senior private equity executive with over 20 years of experience and in over 10 years on the ground experience in Africa with expertise in origination, deal execution, portfolio management, exits and fundraising. Nana has significant entrepreneurial experience in the convenience food sector in Nigeria. She served as a Director/Senior Investment Professional at (ECP), one of the largest Africa-focused private equity firms with more than $2.6 billion raised over 18 years investing across Africa. She has executed and exited transactions with a total value of about $500 million in agribusiness, financial services (insurance and banks), oil & gas primarily in West Africa with some exposure to east Africa. She has been instrumental in developing niche strategies to target African institutions in West and East Africa to consider private equity as alternative investments. She is also a co-founder at Amayi Foods Limited, a Nigeria-based convenience foods company, and brainchild behind initial product; provide operational, strategic and fundraising direction.
Nana begun her career at Goldman Sachs (REPIA), one of the largest real estate private equity investors with exposure to a portfolio of assets including a senior housing platform. She has extensive board and committee experience with the Ghana Infrastructure Investment Fund (appointed to the inaugural board in 2015), Continental Reinsurance Plc (publicly listed company), Amayi Foods Limited (an entrepreneurial venture). She holds a BA in Mathematics, Economics (minor) from Mount Holyoke College; an MBA from Trium Global Executive (LSE, HEC, NYU) to be completed in 2019.
Jennifer Moldovanos
Ms. Moldovanos is a visionary marketing specialist with in-depth experience in developing and executing integrated marketing strategies for new market entrants. Her expertise is centered around new products/markets and capitalising on trends to propel business and revenue growth. She is currently the Head of Digital and Content Marketing at Globechain UK where she is responsible for creating and implementing new marketing/market entry strategies for the company’s launch into new markets - UK, Spain, UAE and New York. Her key marketing priorities comprise of increasing brand awareness in markets and driving new customer acquisition for the demand side of the business.
Her previous role was as Chief Marketing Officer at SenzoLive in Finland where she completely transformed the marketing department by spearheading the development and execution of marketing, communication, and PR strategies across the globe. Prior to SenzoLive, Ms Moldovanos was Head of Marketing SSA for Sunbird where she established the marketing department and headed all aspects of internal communications for both Sunbird and their affiliated company ESBC. She facilitated in laying the strong marketing foundation for both companies by initiating growth-focused marketing strategies across all targeted Sub-Saharan Africa markets.
Ms Moldovanos was previously Head of Marketing, PR and Communications at JLL – a global fortune 500 full service real estate firm, where she played an instrumental role is creating and executing the marketing strategy for JLL’s Sub Saharan Africa expansion. She developed and implemented effective PR and communication strategies and organised creative marketing campaigns to improve brand awareness and increase customer engagement. Jennifer previously worked at YFM & Black Sheep Media, South Africa as the Marketing and PR Account Manager, where she liaised with major media agencies to promote high-profile brand products and corporations. She hold a BA in Commerce and Marketing from the University of Johannesburg, and the Gordon Institute of Business Science, SA.
Gbenga Olaniyan
Gbenga is a qualified Estate Surveyor and Valuer. A graduate of the University of Lagos, he left the Institution with a B.Sc. (Hons) Estate Management in 1987.After having some pre-qualification experience in the real estate world, he worked for Fox and Company (Estate Surveyors and Valuers) between October 1987 and November 1992 and resigned as a Senior Estate Surveyor. He had a brief stint with Rainbow Home Savings and Loans Limited (Mortgage Bankers) from December 1992 to April 1993 as the Assistant General Manager (Estate) after which he resigned to pioneer Estate Links Ltd and Gbenga Olaniyan & Associates.
He is presently the Principal Partner of Gbenga Olaniyan & Associates (Estate Surveyors & Valuers) and the Chairman, Board of Directors of Estate Links Limited (International real estate Consultants). Estatelinks Limited is the international arm of the real estate practice with offices in Surrey, England; Philadelphia, USA and affiliates in South Africa. He is a past member of the national MCPD committee of the Nigerian institution of estate surveyors and valuers as well as having been a past member of the Professional Practice Committee.
He is a Fellow of Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors & Valuers (NIESV); Fellow, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), International Institute of Rating and Revenue Valuation (U.K); the International Real Estate Institute (IREI) USA, and the International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI).
Gbenga is regularly invited to corporate events to speak on real estate and construction, the most notable being the Africa Day at the London Business school and Harvard Business School respectively where he was a guest speaker and given a rating of “outstanding” by the African students of the institution (2012). He has attended several executive courses over the years including the Lagos Business School for the chief executive programme, the University of Liverpool, UK, for his MBA, the Harvard Business School, Boston USA.
